Equipment

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast
  • 90 g carrots 1 medium (raw)
  • 1 egg
  • 15 g green onions
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 55 g oat flour
  • 1 tsp salt for babies 12 months +
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for frying

Instructions

  • Shred the carrots or place them in a food processor and process until shredded.
  • Add the chicken and process until it turns into a smooth paste.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until fully combined.
  •  With your hands wet make small chicken balls and press them with the palm of your hands to make small patties / burgers.
  • Heat a skillet with some olive oil and cook the patties on low/medium heat until golden.

Notes

  • Don’t over cook the patties: For younger babies you want these softer and less crispy, so make sure that you use low heat and cover with a lid. If necessary, add a little bit of water to the frying pan for added moisture.
  • If you like these even softer you can shape them into small meatballs or chunkier nuggets. To cook, add olive oil and sprinkle some water, cover, and let them steam inside. Make sure the patties are fully cooked, internal temperature should be 165F.
