Ingredients to make the Best Pumpkin Banana Smoothie
- Frozen banana: used to sweeten the smoothie and make it creamy.
- Almond Milk: I like using unsweetened plant milk in this recipe, but feel free to use your milk of choice.
- Pumpkin puree: This is my favorite store-bought puree, but if you’d like you can make your own. Just follow the steps of my homemade pumpkin puree recipe.
- Pumkin pie spice: I like using this one from McCormick.
- Almond butter: Added for extra creaminess and healthy fats. Check out my favorite.
Tips for Making this Nutritious Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe
- Use a ripe banana with some brown spots for the perfect sweetness. You can cut it into slices and freeze for 2-3 hours and it will be just the perfect consistency.
- It is best to use a high-speed blender, this is my favorite for making smoothies! If yours isn’t very powerful, you may need to wait a little for the banana to defrost or add more milk.
Best Smoothie Cups for Kids
I’ve tried multiple cups, and our favorites are from Elk and Friends. Here are a few things that we love about them:
- Easy to clean. They are made of glass or stainless steel and have a sturdy silicon cover! They come with straw brushes for cleaning and replacement silicone rings for the lids. This may sound like a no brainer but believe me…most brands do not send a cleaning kit or any replacement parts.
- There is a stopper so that the straw doesn’t come out.
- And they have the cutest design and colors.
