What is Tzatziki Cucumber Salad

The original Tzatziki is a creamy Greek yogurt dip made with shredded cucumber, lemon, garlic, dill and mint. It is amazing to eat with veggies or pitas.

This Tzatziki cucumber salad uses the same ingredients but the cucumber is sliced rather than grated.

Ingredients to Make Tzatziki Cucumber Salad

  • Greek Yogurt: It is the base of this sauce, use plain sugar free yogurt. When serving to kids I prefer the full fat option, but feel free to use a low fat option.
  • Lemon Juice: Fresh lemon adds flavor and a special sourness to the sauce. It is delicious!
  • Garlic: I used powdered garlic, but you can also use fresh minced garlic!
  • Salt, Pepper, and Olive Oil: Add to suit your taste, I have added my recommendations on the recipe card.
  • Red onions: Add a special crunch and flavor. Do not skip it!
  • Cucumber: You can use English cucumber without seeds or really any type of cucumber.
  • Fresh dill and mint: These herbs go very well with this yogurt dip. You can use dried herbs but use less amount than what is called for in this recipe.
