This blueberry banana smoothie is super tasty and nutritious! You can prepare it with both the banana and blueberries frozen for a creamier consistency, but only one of the fruits frozen will work as well, just add in some ice if you like it thicker!
This recipe has no sugar added; however, I recommend serving only after 12 months of age. The first year should be focused on exploring fruits, veggies, proteins and different consistencies and textures. Therefore the ideal combiantion is fruit + water instead of offering fruit juices or smoothies early on.
Served in our favorite smoothie cups from Elk and Friends.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If both the banana and blueberries are frozen no ice is needed. If you only have fresh fruit, I suggest adding some ice to get to the ideal smoothie texture. But totally up to your personal preference! For little ones (12+ months), I prefer to only use one of the fruits frozen and no ice as it is easier for them do drink using a cup/straw. If I am serving as a smoothie bowl, then yes it needs to be more consistent.
