WHAT ARE POACHED PEARS?
Poached pears are a classic French dessert. Originally, whole pears are peeled are cooked in red wine and honey or sugar. I have adapted this recipe to be baby friendly. The grape juice and spices give just the right amount of sweetness.
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE THE EASIEST DESSERT
- Pears
- Cloves
- Cinnamon stick
- Grape juice (100% grapes – sugar free)
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the pears in half, remove cores and peel.
- Cut each half in 4 slices.
- Add all ingredients to a saucepan and simmer over low heat until tender (keep lid on and stir occasionally).
- Allow the pear slices to cool and serve.
